If you are a real estate agent or a homeowner looking to sell your property, you might want to consider using twilight photos to showcase your listing.

Twilight photos are taken during the golden hour, which is the period of time right before sunset or right after sunrise when the sky is filled with warm and soft colours.

Twilight photos can create a stunning contrast between the dark sky and the bright lights of the house, highlighting its features and creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

Why use twilight photos?

Twilight photos can help you stand out from the competition and attract more buyers. Here are some of the benefits of using twilight photos for your listing:

– They showcase the curb appeal of your property. Twilight photos can emphasize the architectural details, landscaping, and outdoor lighting of your house, making it look more appealing and attractive to potential buyers.

– They create an emotional connection with buyers. Twilight photos can evoke a sense of warmth, comfort, and romance, making buyers feel more emotionally attached to your property. They can also help buyers imagine themselves living in your house and enjoying the beautiful views of the sunset or sunrise.

– They increase your online exposure. Twilight photos can catch the eye of online shoppers who are browsing through hundreds of listings. They can also generate more clicks, views, and shares on social media platforms, increasing your online visibility and reach.

How to get twilight photos?

Twilight photos require professional equipment and skills to capture the best lighting and angles. You can either hire a professional photographer who specializes in twilight photography, or you can learn how to take twilight photos yourself. Here are some tips on how to get twilight photos for your listing:

– Plan ahead. Check the weather forecast and the sunset or sunrise time for your location. You want to avoid cloudy or rainy days that can ruin the colors and clarity of your photos. You also want to schedule your photo shoot around 15 minutes before or after the sun sets or rises, when the sky is at its most colorful.

– Prepare your property. Make sure your house is clean and tidy, both inside and outside. Turn on all the lights, including lamps, chandeliers, porch lights, landscape lights, pool lights, etc. You can also light up candles, fireplaces, or fire pits to add some extra warmth and glow.

– Use a tripod. A tripod is essential for taking sharp and steady twilight photos. You will need to use a slow shutter speed to capture enough light in the dark conditions, which can cause blurry images if you hold your camera by hand. A tripod will also help you keep your camera level and aligned with your subject.

– Adjust your settings. Depending on your camera model and lens type, you will need to adjust your settings accordingly. Generally speaking, you want to use a low ISO, also depends on what your using, what works for me is ISO 400-680 to avoid noise and graininess in your photos. You also want to use a small aperture (around f/8 or f/11) to get a large depth of field and sharp focus on your house and its surroundings. Finally, you want to use a slow shutter speed (around 1/10 or 1/15) to capture enough light and create a smooth transition between the sky and the house.

– Experiment with different angles and compositions. Try to capture different perspectives and views of your house and its features. You can also use some creative techniques such as zooming in or out, panning, tilting, or rotating your camera to create some dynamic effects in your photos.

Twilight photos can be a powerful marketing tool for selling your home. They can showcase your property in its best light and create a lasting impression on buyers. If you want to learn more about how twilight photos can help you sell your home faster and for more money, contact me today!
